performing, Jackie has been eager to branch out into the world of music over the airwaves.
Growing up in border town Ridgeway, Ontario, the only radio stations on the dial were from Buffalo, NY. So weather was expressed in Fahrenheit and Valery’s love was expressed through the mixed tape. Her first radio show was an eighth-grade assignment and therefore heavy on the Smashing Pumpkins. A singer/composer with a love for piano, recording, and radio, Val’s music career tapped into broadcasters indie to international, where performing live on air added to her interest in getting involved. After years of working at Toronto film/TV/music production studios, Val landed in Penticton in 2020 as a communications lead. She’s thrilled to connect with community through the CFUZ airwaves!
